10 things I hate about [me]

by Jenny on February 22, 2012

1. I hate that I have the least “professional” wardrobe ever. For one of my education classes we had to create an informative video about the importance of internet safety. I was cast as the “teacher” and literally  could not find one thing that was “appropriate” for a teacher to wear. I settled upon this.

Nothing says 70 year old grandpa teacher like a sweater vest, right?

2. I hate the fact that I found an avocado in my glove compartment. And then ate it for dinner. It was perfectly ripe.

3. I hate that I did a photoshoot with my perfume bottle yesterday and spent at least 20 minutes looking for it this morning.

I did manage to get some cool shots though!

4. I hate that I didn’t give up anything for lent but, to be honest, I don’t feel spiritually compelled to. If you don’t either then I don’t really see the point. FYI,  Lent is not another excuse to revive our failed new years resolutions.

5. I hate the fact that I bought $1.00 wannabe hipster sunglasses (according to Oliver).

6. I hate the fact that I love them more than any other pair of sunglasses I’ve bought

7. I hate the fact that I spent 10 minutes of my life choosing which instragram filter I liked best.

8. I hate that I only did 1/2 of my workout today because my body said so.

9. I hate myself for fully intending on wearing this for the rest of the night

10. I hate that I love all of these things about myself. I’m not perfect. Neither are you. I used to try and be, until I learned that being an uptight snob is really not a good time. I’ve learned that once you’re able to laugh at yourself, life becomes a hell of a lot more enjoyable. You should try it. Starting…now!

What do you “hate to love” about yourself?

Ah, I couldn’t agree more about the professional wardrobe! I have maybe? one outfit that would be “business- casual” / ok to wear to a job.

I hate that I still love coloring :)

Love this post! We all definitely need to love our quirks… and it reminds me of the move, which is probably my all time favorite.

I hate that I’m OCD about keeping the kitchen counter clear and clean but will pile clothes onto my bedroom floor until I can no longer see it ;) .

Great post!

i’ve never had a professional wardrobe. I mean, i live in workout gear, so you look good to me! to be in love with your flaws is what i call a happy life. So love to hate.

I hate that I always catch the bathroom at work that someone has JUST finished pooping in. Everytime, Jenny, everytime.

But on a more serious note, I hate that it’s so hard to find a job after college, but I love that I have a substantial job right now that I thoroughly enjoy :)

I hate that I am eating moore lately because I am simply hungry.
And I hate that I’m not a party-person although every one else seems to be. I just don’t like crowds.

hehehehe you’re so cute Jenny! You’re right, it’s not the most professional attire, but it’s soooooo cute!! Ummm I can give you my address and you can send those outfits over here :P

And guess what! I surprisingly loved the short videos from Leah, and I got one of the cheap download packages! Just like you said, I feel poised and it’s really…nice. I still love my own training methods, but this one will definitely be one of them. So thanks Jenny.

And I hate that I’ve been so sleepy so early lately! BUt I guess it’s a blessing in disguise since I need to sleep early[er] anyway. :)

I love this post. Those sunglasses are awesome too.
I probably hate that I love Disneyland so much. It’s the place I think about when school gets depressing.

This post made my day. I have a pink robe that I would literally LIVE in, if it were acceptable.

I hate the fact that after waking up at 4:00 AM for 3 days in a row (the job I’m currently working on had ridiculously early call-times) I still feel guilty about the fact that I’m going to allow myself to sleep in tomorrow. I feel like I should go to the gym in the morning to get back into my “routine” but I know my body needs rest. So, rest it will be!

I hate that I love going to bed early and waking up early- definitely on a different schedule than any of my friends!

Jenny!

I’m a teacher and I’m telling you right now, the cool thing about getting that teaching job is that you can do YOUR style, as long as you rock it. Yours will work for you just fine. :) I also have a half-sleeve (that I keep covered), which is not exactly professional, but I am passionate about my work and refuse to conform to what society says teachers “should” be like (aside from morally speaking, of course).

Wow, I LOVE this post. I just found your blog & I absolutely love it. I can relate sooo much to you (I’m also trying to gain some weight, but I’m hating the mental aspect that’s coming along with it). I look forward to continuing to read your blog! xo
